When I think of Rosemary, what pops into my mind first is my yummy Rosemary Garlic potatoes paired with a whole, garlic roasted chicken, stuffed with Rosemary. I have two huge bushes of Rosemary growing in my yard and I still haven’t made a soap scented with Rosemary!! Time to remedy that methinks!
Rosemary, like Lavender, is another one of those well loved herbs. It’s clear, strong, stimulating scent is an antioxidant and is obtained from the stalks, leaves and flowers of the plant. Rosemary is said to stimulate the mind, body, adrenals and memory (and I know I need a lot of help with that these days!) And Moodi women, Rosemary has traditionally been used for conditioning the scalp and stimulating healthy hair growth….some folks even suggest it helps cover those grays!!
Interestingly though, Rosemary should not be used by pregnant women and should be avoided by those with elevated blood pressure and anyone who has seizures. It is a strong stimulant and affects functions of the nervous system, so use the essential oil with caution please. On the upside, Rosemary stimulates and regulates menstruation, enhances circulation and relieves involuntary muscle spasms.
Like Peppermint, Rosemary is a wonderful Wake It Up scent! So imagine waking up to the wonderful scent of Rosemary instead of the annoying ring of an alarm clock! Put a few drops of Rosemary Essential Oil in your diffuser and set it on a timer to wake you up in the morning. If you’re like me however, you may need both!!!!!
This might motivate me to make a Lavender Rosemary bar or perhaps a Lemon Rosemary bar … any suggestions ?
